How can ANYONE believe ANYTHING a Conservative says?!?!?!

Yesterday brought us 3  outstanding examples of blatant Conservative lies, misrepresentations and memory loss.  The first comes courtesy of former Bush administration senior adviser Karl Rove who had the balls to criticize Obama on spending increases in a Wall Street Journal editorial.  This would not be ballsy under normal circumstances, as I am all for criticizing authority, BUT when you’re administration was the greatest spending administration since LBJ you have NO right to criticize anyone when it comes to spending.  And I know the Bush defenders will cry oh it was all the wars and Homeland Security.  Well first, we did NOT need to start 2 wars, but that is another argument for another day.  If you accept the premise that all of Bush’s defense and Homeland Security spending was necessary to protect this country you still have one of the greatest spenders in the history of this country.  Non-war related defense spending soared 25%, education expenditures soared 18%, and the 2002 farm bill double agricultural spending from 1990s levels.  Classic example of Conservative memory loss.

Second, the most egregious abuse of the truth I may have ever seen.  Rudy “Mr. 9/11” Giuliani claimed on the today show that no domestic terror attacks occurred under Bush, although one has occurred under Obama, the Christmas bomber.  What Rudy seems to be forgetting is that Bush had 3 terror attacks on his watch, 9/11 (how Rudy forgot this one I will never know), the 6 deaths attributable to anthrax attacks and the shoe bomber, Richard Reid (this was an attempted attack, but so was the Christmas bomber, which Rudy considers an attack).  I really have no words or explanation for this one.  Rudy’s statements are blatant lies at worst, and horrendous, inexcusable misrepresentations at best.

Third, comes from Fox News and their deliberate misrepresentations about a new program that will give climate scientists access to CIA satellite images.  The program amounts to keeping satellites on as they travel over uninhabited wilderness areas, and giving scientists access to these images so that they can better understand the effects of climate change.  According to Fox the Obama administration has decided to divert CIA resources from investigating terrorism and towards climate change research.  This is simply not true.  In fact I can imagine a million ways that this could be done with almost no diversion of CIA terrorism investigation resources, not the least of which would be to create a secured website where these images can be posted, and give only certain scientists access to this data.  This would only take a few IT people, and would involve NONE of the CIA’s anti-terrorism staff.
